Maui Vacation 2006

Spent the last 10 days on Maui (where I grew up) for a family vacation. We had a fantastic time, weather was a bit rainy though still great. We set out to do a lot of different stuff from the last time. We went to the beach several times, buried Llana and Zack up to their necks in sand, built sand castles, went to a high school track meet (my 13 yr. old niece won the girls MIL varsity), trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, jumped off a few waterfalls, went trick-or-treating with the kids, harvested banana stocks, chopped down a coconut tree, ate a lot of mom's Mexican food and Cupie's breaded teriyaki, planted ti leaves, jumped on the trampoline, played monopoly and scrabble, and Llana attended her 10 yr. reunion. The only negative was Alamo Renta A Car, I'll not be using them again. A few snaps below and back to work for me!

Are you native hawaiian? I grew up on oahu, now living on the east coast. Haven't met much people from hawaii working in info. sec, though I am horribly unconnected from the industry =]

"native hawaiian", no. :) Grew up on Maui, as did the other WhiteHat founder Lex, but neither of us are Hawaiian. A mix or some other ethnic stuff. There are several people that are from or live in Hawaii that do infosec.

Why wasn't the dinner at your favorite friend's house listed amoung the many things you did while on Maui? :)

Hello from the island of Kauai where I recently took a position with Aspect Security as a full time AppSec security engineer. Anyone interested in starting a Hawaii OWASP chapter? E-mail me at jim@manico.net
