The relevance of today's media is definitely 'questionable' at best, yet there are very few options to pay for actual content relevant to what you're interested in following without this third party influence. A required element for the next-generation media is not only to provide paid content by the subscriber, but also to NOT accept payment from interests looking to push a product/agenda/narrative to those subscribers. Without this, or some similar restriction, content providers will just be taking money from subscribers in addition to what they've already received from the pay-to-play influencers. Most newspapers and magazines under today's model already suffer from this, and aren't worth sending money to add more profit to their existing model. <br /><br />I think there are people that want and would pay for content like this (like myself), but not under the current model that allows for these kinds of deceptive practices.
